The Art of Critique
Do you shudder at the thought of having your artwork critiqued? Do you you think of it as being judged? Critiquing happens all the time in silence. In October, a new critiquing group will participate in doing it aloud.
Yes, critiquing includes judgment. Here it will primarily be done with discussion and critical thinking about what is viewed. While it can be seen as negative, this group will use the process to assist in improving everyone’s art.
On Saturday, October 11, David Fairrington, nationally renowned local artist, will begin facilitating a group for the purpose of helping everyone in it improve their artwork. David will encourage all opinions. The first meeting will be held in the Gallery to explore days and times best for meeting monthly after that. Members of the group will be asked to create new art for each meeting.
Dare to sign-up for this beneficial class by calling the gallery or stopping by soon.
