Redlands Art Association is honored to have Fred Brashear, Jr, a photographer, artist, and conservationist, who will give a talk and presentation on his work documenting Joshua Trees. Included will be the procedures he went through to get permission to use downed Joshua trees to make paper to paint on. His photographs reveal the state of our Joshua Tree National Park-good and bad.
Fred Brashear, Jr is a Southern Californian, photo-based artist focusing on the relationship between humans and the natural environment. Though investigation and research, Fred connects the treatment of the natural environment to the systems of social inequality and inequity. In addition to his teaching success, Fred has also maintained a successful professional art practice, participating in several exhibitions including the world renowned PhotoLA.
