With weather like this, who would believe that Redlands’ schools are back in session and RAA’s Fall schedule of classes, workshops, programs and events are about to be published.
Your operating committee has been busy working all summer to bring this about. Our newest members are Tony Radcliffe, Vice-President, who coordinates our gallery calendar; Jillian O’Dwyer, Recording Secretary, who takes minutes at our meetings; Rita Entwistle, hospitality, who coordinates refreshments at events; Lori Powell, Adult Education Coordinator; and Grace Fermier, newsletter layout and design. Judith Sparhawk is now coordinating scheduling and training of gallery attendants and Karen Coates is now our Youth Education Coordinator. We are so very fortunate to have these highly skilled and dedicated volunteers working with us.
We have a great line-up of adult classes, workshops and programs for you for the Fall:
- Watercolor with Ed Sotello
- Oil Painting with Chick Curtis
- Artist’s Way with Judith Sparhawk
- Drawing with John Brownfield
- Weaving with Evelyn Ifft
- Program and Workshop by Sheila Hansberger, watercolorist
- Program and Workshop by Dennis Hare, assemblage artist and painter
More information on these will soon be available in the gallery and on our website.
The youth and teen classes begin August 27 with offerings in painting, drawing, paper sculpture, cartooning, comic book creation and a study of clay, printmaking, sketching and painting. Instructors are Darlene Douthit, Firouzei Flordelis, Gloria Steinweg, Jo Thompson, and Skip Welch. Detailed information is available now in the gallery and on-line.
Dance the Days and try to stay cool!
