I have been artistic all my life and dabbled in many mediums but I never had a passion for any. Once I retired I searched for the type of art form that would fill my soul and I found clay. 

When I sit down to create, the clay takes on a life of its own. My quirky and playful sculptures are very detailed with patterns, textures and etchings. I merely follow and a sculpture appears. I prefer they look rustic which I achieve by using a matt underglaze rather than a shiny over glaze. Most usually I embed a turquoise glass marble into the clay. This is very exciting because I can’t predict how it will melt or drip.
