Margaret Clark Art Education Enrichment Fund (MCAEEF)
The MCAEEF committee is happy to submit some information about what is going on with us and hope it is helpful to the Association membership —
This Fund is put to good use by the Redlands Art Association. It promotes and provides art activities and education for the youth of Redlands and surrounding communities in a variety of ways. Art classes and related activities and projects, as well as scholarships for local high school students are funded each year. The funding of these activities is approved and monitored by the MCAEEF Committee which is made up of knowledgeable and dedicated members of RAA. These people are — Janet Edwards, Peggy Dornbach, John Brownfield, Lori Powell, Jeff Owens, Annette Weis, Tia Shira, Sue Kovacevich, Grace Fermier, Ed Sotello and Jerry Meeker. President Gail Brownfield also participates in our meetings, which is helpful and very much appreciated.
To give you some idea of what is done each year, here is a brief review of the fiscal year 2013-2014which is pretty typical of the past few years.
- Art grants for local K-12 schools $16,600
- Grants for other youth organizations $4,200
- Scholarships and Awards for local high schools $4,400
All of these dollars are put to good use. I think it’s important for us to know that all grants are monitored closely and that end of project reports, including financial statements, are always required. This way we can keep good track of how it is all going.
As you may know, all of our distributed funds are generated by the RAA fall and spring Classic Film Series. Without the films, we would have no funds. Without Annette Weis, we would have no films. So, a BIG THANKS goes to Annette and to everyone who comes to the movies!
Considering all of the wonderful art classes at the gallery and those funded by MCAEEF, RAA is providing a great deal of art opportunities for our youth– It’s what were all about!
Respectfully Submitted by- Jerry Meeker, MCAEEF Committee Chair
