Color, bold color. It brings me joy and happiness and makes me feel alive.

I am a pastel artist, and this medium is pure pigment plus a small amount of binder. There is no other medium with such pure color. I know this is why I was drawn to this medium. My main inspiration is spending time in nature, hiking the mountains, walking by the ocean, or tending to my garden. I feel most alive in these environments. I am blessed to live in California where I have so many different landscapes to experience. When in natural beauty it pierces my soul and reminds me of THE Master artist, God, who created it all. With my art I try and convey that sense of awe and wonder and color which I feel. I hope to bring my viewers a bit of that magic and joy through my painting.
