April Program: The Spirit of Art and Color w/ Abby Cameron
Tuesday, April 23 @ 7 pm
Multi-talented artist, Abby Cameron, will be the guest speaker of the Redlands Art Association on Tuesday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. Her distinctive and colorful artwork is represented in homes and collections throughout the United States.
Abby will share with us her love of creating art that is infused with rich, dynamic color. Her creative spirit has enticed her to successfully explore many media, (oil, watercolor, pastels, colored pencils, glass, silk, etc.). Most recently, she has discovered drawing with colored pencils on Colourfix Paper offers wonderful possibilities for gorgeous color in her art. She will discuss and demonstrate her methods of making drawings SING WITH AMAZING COLOR, using colored pencils and other media.
Abby has been an artist for as long as she can remember. Before elementary school, she was the little girl that always had a pencil or brush in hand and was making art. Like needing to breath, she needs to create, in whatever medium seems right at the time. Creating makes her feel a sense of happiness and harmony with the world, which she desires to convey through her art.
A lifelong student of art: her education includes graduating from the University of Miami, where her studies emphasized art and education; and intense study, for many years, as a protégé of the famed Greek artist, Paul Forpoulos. Forpoulos was a major force in the development of her passion and abilities using color and form.
In Florida, her work has been exhibited in many group fine art shows, including a one woman show. Galleries in Sarasota, Tarpan Springs and Clearwater, all in Florida, have represented her work. Since moving to California, Abby has been commissioned to do several large murals and has been selling her work privately.
Come see, hear and be inspired by Abby and her art, while learning some fresh techniques with colored pencils.
The Tuesday evening program is free to RAA members and $3 to non-members
