Getting Our Name Out Part Two!
The Redlands Sustainability Festival was held on Saturday, March 29th from 11 to 3 PM at the University of Redlands. There were over 80 groups, agencies, and businesses represented and over 1,500 people attended during the four-hour period. Evelyn Ifft and I held down the RAA table where several folks picked up our membership brochure and asked about art classes. Many were particularly interested in the fact that we are the first and only small, downtown business with a solar energy system since 2008. We had photos of the roof showing the panels, high efficiency HVAC units and foam roof coating. We also had a satellite view of our block verifying our assertion. It was a great day and Evelyn also drew interest in her weaving a new pine needle basket. Evelyn also obtained a referral to a “green” architect who might be interested in handling the plans for the proposed remodeling effort.
Our Give Big promotion web and FaceBook pages supported by the Community Foundation and put on by San Bernardino County are now operational and functioning. We are one of over 110 non profit county organizations participating in the special Give Big program and will share in the gifts received during the 24 hour, on-line outreach on May 8th. For more information, check out the Give Big San Bernardino County web site. Also, you can access our donation page directly by clicking on the “DONATE” tab on our website or click here now. I did and it works!
