“Clay, Fire and Smoke” with Colby Cramer

Colby, is a young man, who is very energetic and enthusiastic about making creative ceramic works.  Also, he is an extremely talented and exceptionally fine potter, who has won many awards and who continually explores and experiments with materials, glazes and firing techniques.  He has become quite an authority.  The RAA is happy to have him come and present a program on his art and the alternative methods of firing (saggar, pit, barrel, Raku, fuming, low temperature salt firing, etc.), he enjoys experimenting with and using. .

“The Portrait Made Simple” with Richard Stergulz

Richard Stergulz is a very fine figurative and plein air oil painter, while being an outstanding teacher.  In this program Richard will demonstrate and discuss how he achieves accurate drawings of faces and sets up the light and shadow color families of his paintings, in just 20 minutes.  He will also be sharing some of his amazing work that is realistic in style, with a touch of Russian impressionism.  This should be a captivating program.  Don’t miss it.

“Composing with the Camera for Digital Photographers” with Steve Walag

This program will include an exploration of the concepts and techniques photographers use to create excellent photographs, that are expressive of the photographer/artist’s feelings or interpretation of the subject.  Examples will illustrate time tested techniques, as well as showing why some compositions work, while others don’t.

Out presenter is a very accomplished photographer and instructor, having been a professional photographer for about 40 years (University photographer, photojournalist, public relations photographer, freelance photographer, etc.) and photography instructor at several area colleges, combined with being a professional writer and editor.  Don’t miss the opportunity of hearing and learning from Steve Walag.

Solitude – Where Ideas Begin with Cindy Rinne

Cindy will lecture about discovering creativity in quiet places and strategies that fill the creative soul of the artist.  She will inspire creativity through her beautiful art quilts, poetry and stories.

Terry will share his amazing and beautiful, art created by drawing with moving lines of light.  He will also share some of  his techniques and experiences creating his art.  Many of his creations become ethereal mandalas.

Portraits in Watercolor w/ Robin St. Louis

Robin creates vibrant portraits, that are so alive with color.  She will discuss her techniques of creating luminous sunlight in her paintings and how she designs  powerful compositions, that catch your eye from across the room.

Monotype Prints with Charlie Ciali

Charlie will discuss the making of monotype prints and some of the techniques he uses, creating his prints in his Palm Springs studio.  He will be bringing a press to demonstrate on.
